Safe sink for materials that are no longer usable
Indaver ensures waste is stored as sustainably as possible. Indaver has environmentally safe management and processing solutions for asbestos treatment.
The North and Central Zeeland landfill site (30 ha) has a base liner to prevent rainwater from seeping through the waste into the ground water. Drainage systems remove the leachate (wastewater). A water purification facility then cleans the leachate after which Indaver can discharge it responsibly into the surface water.
Due to the amount and diversity of waste in a landfill site the organic material starts to ferment spontaneously. Indaver extracts the biogas (methane) that is created through gas shafts and pipelines. We then convert this into green electricity.
In order to secure the continuity of landfill capacity in the south of the Netherlands, we are preparing the expansion of this landfill site.
