My Waste Ireland Upcycling Challenge 2020

Indaver is delighted to have taken part in this year's My Waste Upcycle Challenge with a fantastic entry by our Meath mechanical maintenance team, led by Graham De Khors.

Our team upcycled used oil barrels to create a table and chairs out of them. As we are a waste-to-energy company, passionate about the circular economy and sustainability, we thought it was a great opportunity to showcase our enthusiasm for re-using and recycling as well as bringing the plant and office environments a little closer together by placing the table and chairs in our head office in Dun Laoghaire and two other locations.

As these are busy and testing times for all, the project also gave our mechanical team a little time out from their usual daily tasks and a chance to be more creative in their work. We think the team did a fantastic job, with the only new materials used in the process being the resin for the table and edge trim on the chairs.

Well done to all involved and the best of luck to all the teams entered.
