Sustainability Strategy Specialist

What will your working day look like?

As Sustainability Strategy Specialist, you will be responsible for initiating innovative ideas based on Indaver's long-term sustainability objectives. To this end, you set up internal processes that lead to different projects and new acquisitions to build our innovative and sustainable future business. You coordinate and supervise internal processes in support of an overall innovation mind-set within the company, at the level of operational excellence, continuous improvement and breakthrough innovation. You define targets, KPI’s and strategies for climate, circularity and corporate sustainability. You follow-up on new developments and technologies in the field of  waste and raw materials, waste legislation and waste treatment. You supervise group processes with internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication and listening skills as a leading team player. You will also build an academic research network and strong relationships with external stakeholders.

What will be your biggest challenge?

You have a strategic coordination role where you bring colleagues together to drive processes and activities. You have good knowledge of external challenges and you recognise opportunities for the business, that you know how to convert into new activities and technologies. You integrate these new initiatives into Indaver's corporate sustainability strategy and long-term policy. The goal is to strengthen Indaver's position as an enabler and gatekeeper for the circular economy. And to further improve Indaver's expertise, sustainability and competitive position. You have a proactive attitude and strong drive for sustainable development and innovation. To do so, you are a strong networker who is willing to build good relations with internal and external stakeholders.

How will you make a difference?

• You have a master's degree in (Bio-) Engineering
• You have 5 to 10 years' experience in a technological sector or in the innovation field and expertise in innovation management.
• You have knowledge of waste and material management technologies and of circular economy business concepts.
• You also have knowledge and understanding of ESG requirements.
• You have affinity with the science policy interface.
• You possess proven leadership role in innovation or improvement processes.
• You are fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch

Where will you be working?

Indaver is an international waste treatment and management company committed to a sustainable circular future. It extracts new raw materials and energy from waste streams. Hazardous components are destroyed in order to keep the materials cycle safe.

Continuous improvement is one of Indaver's core values. You will be part of corporate sustainability team and report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer.
